1)On April 18, 2009, I went to the westmanchester mall to participate in chalk it up. Chalk it up is an art contest by york arts. It's a day where students from different highschools gather to make chalk murals to be hung and displayed to the public.this is through the organization called yorkarts which is dedicated to spreading art throughout york city. this is especially for those who can't afford luxuries like art. i've always loved yorkarts.
2)Art class has definately helped with this experience. I've worked with yorkarts for many other things before so that helped. I've done chalk it up before. I knew some of what to expect but this year was much better. all of the drawing I'd done previously helped!
3)People benefited because the proceeds from this contest went to fund art programs. This also spread art throughout the mall for people to see. Spreading art is very important in the world today because people don't take the time to enjoy it.Yorkarts helps people take the time to look at art. We helped spread art awareness.
4)This influenced my spiritual life in many ways. We interacted with many kids from other schools. I hated redlion school district for no apparent reason until I met some amazing art students from redlion. We learned a lot at chalk it up. Even though we were all competing agains each other. we still had to interact and be nice to each other. Just like how we all want to make it to heaven. Everyone there wanted to win. So we realized we wern't all that different and made some good friends. I'll be going back next year!
